20 crore spectators watched the inaugural match of the IPL

New Delhi, Sep 22 (udrakhabar) The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the world's most expensive T20 cricket tournament, has been canceled due to a corona epidemic.  BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said the board could suffer a loss of Rs 4,000 crore if the IPL is not held this year.  The tournament is scheduled to be played in Mumbai on March 29.  But the rapid rise in the corona case in India has not made it possible for the friend to lock up.  So the BCCI transferred the tournament to the UAE.

The tournament is being held at three venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.  The competition, which started on September 19, will run until November 10.  In the first match of the league, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, defeated the defending champions Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets.  Spectators were not allowed to enjoy the match at the stadium, but the opening match set a world record.  BCCI editor Jay Shah said on Tuesday that the inaugural match between Chennai and Mumbai was watched by nearly 20 crore viewers around the world on TV and other online platforms.  Never before have so many spectators watched the inaugural match in IPL.  Similarly, on its official Twitter account on behalf of the IPL, it is an all-time record to watch the first match of any league in any other country on such a large number of spectators on TV and digital platforms.  The IPL has thanked the spectators of India and other countries around the world.
