BCCI-Emirates Cricket MoU signed
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a hosting agreement were signed on Saturday between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Emirates Cricket Board. This was done with the aim of increasing cricket relations between the two countries, ”said BCCI editor Jay Shah. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Treasurer Arun Dhumal were prominently present at the signing ceremony. On behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board, its chairman, Khalid Al-Jaruni, signed the memorandum of understanding. If the agreement does not improve the corona epidemic situation in India, the next edition of the IPL could be held in the UAE in April 2021, six months later. India has another major event ahead. That was the home series against England. Efforts will be made to organize it in India as soon as possible. If not, it could be in the alternative venue in the UAE, a senior BCCI official said. The 13th edition of the IPL is being held outside India due to Covid-19. It is being held in three venues in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Saturday's inaugural match was played between last-time champions Mumbai Indians and runners-up Chennai Super Kings. The final will be played on November 10.
