Dinesh Karthik aims to make KKR a champion
Dubai: Dinesh Karthik will lead the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the current edition of the IPL. All eyes are on whether Dinesh Karthik can lead the KKR team in the current IPL. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan owns the team, while the team won the IPL in 2012 and 2014. It remains to be seen whether Dinesh Karthik will be able to make the KKR team the IPL champions for the third time. In addition to Karthik, the KKR team includes star cricketers such as Ian Morgan and Pat Cummins. Cummins was bought by the KKR team for Rs 15.5 crore, while Morgan England captained the ODIs and Twenty20 teams. It is hoped that Dinesh Karthik will be able to benefit from Morgan's experience.
Cricket pundits have suggested that the UAE's pitch will be slower and that it will suit the spinner. The KKR team includes Sunil Narayan, Kuldeep Yadav, Rinku Singh, M. Siddharth and Barun Chakraborty as spinners. While Karthik failed to perform as expected in the last edition of the IPL, the team is expected to perform well this season. The team includes fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Loki Ferguson, Andrew Russell, famous Krishna, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi and Sandeep Warrier.
The KKR team has Russell, Morgan, Nitish Rana, Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik as the explosive batsmen. Apart from these, Sunil Narayan and England's young batsman Tom Bontan have also been able to bat explosively. With Benton's strike rate of 183 in the International Twenty20, the KKR could give him a chance to bat. As the KKR team has young and experienced players, the team is expected to be the champion if all the players perform according to their abilities.
