The airline's revenue fell 45.7%
New Delhi, Sep 17: In the first quarter of fiscal 2020-21, the revenue of airlines fell by 45.7% to Rs 3,451 crore. Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Wednesday that the flight was canceled due to Covid-19. In March, Indian airlines had 7,4 employees. It was down 9.06% to 4,56. During April-June, the airport operator lost Rs 6 crore. Notably, domestic flights were suspended from March 25 to May 24. Flights will be available again from May 25. During the period from April to June 2017, the revenue of the airlines was Rs 25,517 crore. It has dropped to Rs 3,751 crore in the same period last fiscal. Air India's revenue fell from Rs 9,06 crore to Rs 1,531. Similarly, in the March-July period, domestic air traffic fell to 1.2 crore. It was Rs 5.75 crore in the same period last year. International traffic fell to 11.55 lakh in March-July from 73.75 lakh earlier. The central government has canceled international flights since March 23 to prevent the corona epidemic.
