The state was hit by catastrophic floods last August due to incessant rains. Twenty districts in the state have been affected by the floods. An inter-ministerial central team will arrive in Odisha tomorrow to assess the flood damage. The team will tour Odisha's four most flood-hit districts for two days. He will then hold talks with the state government on the afternoon of the 19th. That's according to the state's special relief commissioner.
According to sources, a team led by Home Ministry Joint Secretary Praveen Bashistha will arrive in Bhubaneswar tomorrow morning. The team consists of officials from the Ministries of Agriculture, Water Resources, Road Transport and Highways, Rural Development and Finance. The team will be divided into two sections and will visit Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Puri in the four most affected districts for two days on the 18th and 18th. They will return to Bhubaneswar on the afternoon of the 19th to assess the flood damage. The next day, at 5 pm, he will attend a meeting chaired by Asit Kumar Tripathi, General Secretary, Lok Seba Bhavan. The team is scheduled to return to New Delhi on the evening of the 19th.
