 Tomorrow is the deadline for submitting nominations for the Padma Awards 

The deadline for submitting nominations for the Padma Awards is September 15.  According to the Home Ministry on Monday, nominations or nominations for the Padma Awards will be accepted only through the online Padma Awards portal.  The award will be announced on Democracy Day next year.  The nomination process for the Padma Awards began on May 1, 2020.

 Recommendations for the Padma Awards are received from the state government, the state administration, the Union Ministry, the Institute of Excellence and others.  Which is considered by the award committee.  The Padma Awards are announced on the occasion of Democracy Day, based on the recommendations of the awards committee and with the approval of the Prime Minister, the Home Minister and the President.  141 names were announced this year for the Padma Awards.

 On January 26, 2020, former Union ministers Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and George Fernandez and the famous Olympian boxer Merrick were awarded the Padma Bhushan on the occasion of Democracy Day.
