Congress to get new president in January 2021: Uncertainty over Rahul's return!
The crisis over the appointment of a Congress president continues. Twelve meetings have already been held on behalf of the 12-member membership committee formed by the party to appoint a chairman. The party is likely to have a new chairman in January 2021. Even though Sonia Gandhi was acting president, the senior leader did not understand that without a permanent president, the party's organization could not be strengthened. The Tanuya president is now needed for the party to clash fiercely with the BJP. Rahul Gandhi has already refused to run for president. He added that no member of the Gandhi family would be in the post. So it is rumored that Sonia may be back again as her health is not good. But it is in the midst of complete uncertainty. Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh opined that Sonia should persuade Priyanka Gandhi Bhadra if Rahul does not agree. Once again, other senior leaders have stepped in to persuade Rahul. In 2017, Rahul was appointed chairman. His term was until 2022. Rahul resigned from the presidency on moral grounds, blaming himself for the party's defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
