Gayle will play against Bangalore
Kings XI Punjab senior batsman Chris Gayle will play his first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) this time. In the meantime, she has recovered from food poisoning. He will descend on the field against the Royal Challengers on Thursday.
Sunrisers Hyderabad were unable to play against Hyderabad last week as Gayle was suffering from food poisoning, head coach Anil Kumble said. Gayle, 41, also missed the match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday. Thai Gayle uploaded his photo on social media in the hospital bed. Punjab also posted photos of Gayle returning to the Nets. "He is OK and has a good chance of playing against Bangalore on Thursday," he said. The match will be played at Sharjah's relatively small ground. So it is expected that Gayle will rain on the ground. Mayank Agrawal and Lokesh Rahul are opening for the team. Punjab have lost seven of their four matches so far. Punjab's performance needs to be improved to make it to the play-offs in the second half of the tournament.
