The Super Kings lost to the Sunrisers by 20 runs


 Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 20 runs in Tuesday's Indian Premier League (IPL) match.  Batting first, Chennai lost 6 wickets for 167 runs while Hyderabad lost 8 wickets for 147 runs in 20 overs.  This is Chennai's first win after two consecutive defeats and their third win in four matches.  This is the Sunrisers' fifth defeat in four matches.

 Chennai, who decided to bat first after winning the toss, lost the opening round to Faf Duplessis and suffered an early setback.  Before opening the Duplessis account, wicketkeeper Johnny Bairstockwas caught and dismissed by fast bowler Sandeep Sharma.  Duplessis of  stumps went to play in an innings, and the ball took the batting edge.  As a result, the ball fell into Bairsto's hands.  Sam Kuran, who came in to open the innings with Duplessis, scored a quick 31 off 21 balls with three fours and two sixes.  In the third wicket, Ambati Rayudu and Sheen Watson took the lead with a quick 81 off 64 balls.  Rayudu scored 41 off 38 balls with 3 fours, 2 sixes and was caught off the ball by Khalil Ahmed, directly catching David Warner in the long over.  Rayudu's dismissal led Khalil to give the team a break.  Watson scored 42 off 38 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes to catch Manish Pandey in the long-over.  Natarajan was the victim.  Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 21 off 13 balls with 2 fours and 1six to take a quick run, catching Kenneth Williamson in extra cover and becoming Natarajan's second victim.  The explosive Dwayne Bravo came on to bat and was bowled clean by Khalil Ahmed in the first ball.  In the end, all-rounder Rabindra Jadeja was unbeaten on 25 off 10 balls with 3 fours and 1 six.  Deepak Chahar remained unbeaten on 2 runs.  In the fifth over, Dhoni and Jadeja scored a quick 32 off 16 balls.  In bowling, Sandeep, Khalil and Natarajan took two wickets each for Hyderabad.

 The Sunrisers lost the wickets of captains David Warner (7) and Manish Pandey (4) by just 27 runs.  As a result, the pressure on Kenneth Williamson increased.  However, he took advantage of his experience to lead the innings with Johnny Bairstow with 32 for the third wicket and 40 for the fourth with young batsman Priyam Garg.  Bairstow scored 23 off 24 balls and Garg scored 17 off 19 balls.  All-rounder Vijay Shankar scored 12 runs.  Williamson was dismissed in the 19th over with the goal of playing big shots as the required wickets went up.  He went on to play Slag Swipe on Karn Sharma's ball and caught Shardul Thakur in the long jump.  Williamson, who played 39 balls, scored a career-high 57 runs with 7 fours.  The Sunrisers' hopes were dashed by Karn Sharma's 14-run in the over.  However, Chennai's victory was assured as Shaddul Thakur took Rashid Khan's wicket for just five runs in the 19th over.  Among the Chennai bowlers, Karn Sharma and Dwayne Bravo took two wickets each, while Sam Kuran, Rabindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each.
