In Ladakh, the central government will enact laws to protect employment, land, culture and language
Minister of State for Home Affairs G.S. Kishan Reddy completed a two-day visit to Leh and Ladakh. Speaking to reporters in Leh, he said the central government would enact a law on employment, land, culture and language protection in the Ladakh region after the Leh Mountain Council elections. Criticizing the Congress, the National Conference and the Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party, he said, "All these political parties speak the language of Pakistan and China by compromising with the national interest and the people of Ladakh."
“The creation of the Ladakh Union Territory is done for the development of the region,” he said. "The Jozila tunnel is a commitment by the Modi government to the Ladakh region," he said. On the electrification of villages in Ladakh, Mr Reddy said the central government had planned to provide 7,500 megawatts of solar power. This will provide electricity to the area at any time of the day. In the next budget, he said, Leh and Kargil will be included in the Smart City program.
