Anand Mahindra will provide boats to the locals
In Malkangiri district, many inland areas have been flooded by floodwaters, making it difficult for locals to cross the river. Even people in dangerous situations cross the river in dangerous conditions with lautumba, banana tree loads, pots under their stomachs. Recently, Anganwadi workers and teachers crossed the Nerudupali canal in the Ralegeda panchayat in the Swabhiman area of the Chitrakonda block and crossed the canal to Lautumba to carry out their duties. Similarly, Pramila Pangi, an anganwadi worker from Suapali village, and Hemalta Shisha, an anganwadi worker from Nerudupali village, tied the lautumba to Shisha Anta and risked their lives to provide services to the people across the Nerudupali canal. After the news broke in the media, Mahindra company owner Anand Mahindra asked for a motor boat for the people of the area. As a result, government employees and the general public can travel across the canal by boat. Locals have welcomed Mahindra's decision.
